Focus India’s stolen heritage: Authorities push for restitution of spiritual artefacts

An Indian newspaper report alleges that New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Artwork is house to 77 smuggled antiquities. In accordance with UNESCO estimates, some 50,000 items of artwork stolen from Indian temples are presently in Western museums or non-public collections.
